So I decided I couldn't wait any longer and I uploaded the revamped version of one of my websites! :D It gives away no secrets though as to my secret project...I was careful to cover any clues up! :) Not long now though and hopefully I'll be able to reveal all!
This website was so fun to design and I've been itching to release it for ages! Before, it acted as a combined portfolio/gateway to all my sites but now it's even better and has some awesome new things added to it! Check out the "Information" page for some little aside information not be found anywhere else! I've also decided to really emphasise the whole "The Magical World of Kirstin Mills" thing, being my business name, with a map of this world on the index page! On it are the various realms that exist within this world, meaning the different websites and businesses that fall under the umbrella of 'The Magical World of Kirstin Mills'. I wanted to really emphasize the union of them all under my main business name but their inherent separate qualities as well. Plus make it a lot more exciting!
Anyway, I'm super excited about it all and just couldn't wait any longer to show you! So consider this a sneak peek of what's to come!...

July saw a lot of behind-the-scenes work on several exciting projects that are gearing up for release in the next few months! There are some truly amazing ventures and changes ahead and I can't wait to share them with you all!
This month however, I have a brand new painting to share with you: a beautiful big watercolour, it is called "Bring Me Tidings" and depicts a young mermaid waiting among the rough waves at the surface of her world for tidings of the far-away places she dreams of seeing. This was actually my first mermaid painting done in watercolour, so I hope you enjoy her! She is available in prints of all sizes, including our deluxe 17x23 inch prints! Along with 'Bring Me Tidings' I've made last month's beautiful new artwork 'Dusk' available in all product designs. Both designs are now available as stunning Cameo Pendants, Locket Necklaces, Bracelets, Keyrings and Magnets. See them all together at the New Releases page.
Last month was the month of the Sydney Winterfest Medieval Fayre, which went very well and was so much fun! It was lovely to see lots of people in person and thankyou to those that visited! meggybee at the Sydney Winterfest Medieval Fair! This wonderful event is held over two days on the 5th and 6th of July at Marsden Park, Culloden Road, North Ryde. I will be attending both days with all of my art and gifts, and I would love to meet you in person! There are also a myriad of wonderful events on, from jousting and sword-fighting displays to archery, falconry, medieval costumes and stalls and so much more! This month there are SO many beautiful new things available! Firstly, a new artwork has been released: "Amethyst Awakening", a beautiful little dragon hatchling, available in the Fantasy & Dragon Art Gallery. The original of this gorgeous little artwork is also available in the Original Art Sales Gallery.
Also available is the new Jewellery line, with many designs available in beautiful Cameo Pendants, Locket Necklaces and Bracelets! I'm so proud to offer these stunning products and have my own sets to wear too!
A new "Inspirational Gifts" line has also been introduced which includes the unique and magical "Fairy Blessing Charms" and "Deluxe Fairy Blessing Charms." Be sure to check these items out...I'm quite excited to release them because all are personally designed and hand-made by me!
I have also decided to release a very special print size for selected artworks, which will be printed in a limited edition run. These stunning giclee prints are a beautiful and luxurious A2 Poster size, 16 x 23 inches. See them in the Limited Editions Gallery, or by browsing the regular print galleries.
Pocket Prints have also been discontinued for the time being, except in artworks that are originally small enough to warrant being in such a small format. These trading-card sized prints are returning to the drawing board for now, where they may be re-released in the future.
If you haven't visited in a while, be sure to check out the many new pages and bits of information that have been added to the site, including the special gallery "A Twist in Time," released last month, which offers a unique tour through my childhood art and journey into the professional art world!

This month is the last month of the MASSIVE Original Artwork Sale...everything that was in the gallery has been reduced by 50% between now and the end of May, meaning this is the last month to grab a bargain!
This month two new artworks have been released as prints, and one as an original artwork: "Sylphia Fairy Sketch" and my latest painting (and favourite so far!), "Morning Gossip". See them to the right.
Lots of new products are almost ready to go, and you can see previews of them in their awaiting pages: they include Fairy Blessing Charms, Deluxe Fairy Charms, Cameo Pendants and Locket Necklaces. I love all of these products and they make just beautiful gifts for your friends, family, or especially for yourself!
A very special gallery has also been created on the website, inspired by the new artwork "Morning Gossip." Tracing the development of my art from my first drawings to now, it shows some lovely images not seen elsewhere, and also some funny photos! It is also a celebration for me of finally finding my artistic voice again, and it provided a way for me to look back at my journey and be grateful for every part of it. As usual, this last month has proved very busy, but unusually, it was so busy I didn't get to create any art! Instead though, there are a lot of new things going on at www.kirstinmills.com and I'm pretty excited about them! You might notice the sparkly new graphics on the site and the magic glowing fairy underneath the menu (well I guess you can see I couldn't quite go a whole month without at least creating something!). I have also released THREE exciting new products, all of them handmade by me and just gorgeous! I've absolutely fallen in love with the little Notebooks...they are so cute!
In other news, due to my hectic schedule now that I'm researching for my PhD (it has a Nineteenth Century supernatural in literature theme and is very exciting!), I am no longer accepting commissions. Suggestions for images you'd like to see are always welcome though and may just result in an artwork!

This month's update is HUGE! So many things to add along with the FIVE new artworks! Some of the products are still on their way to me and others I still have to photograph and catalogue, but there have been so many questions as to whether the new artworks are available for sale that I've decided to update now with what's ready and add to it later! To get around this, I've decided to add a New Releases section to the website, which all the products will go into when they become available. I was reluctant to do this, seeing as how the new products will be shown in isolation from the other designs available in that product, but I think it will just get too confusing otherwise with updates every which way! At the moment it's not fully integrated into the site and is only available from the main page and a few of the new pages.

February 2008 Website Update

January just flew by, as usual! With New Year's celebrations, the post-Christmas frenzy and the extreme peak period at my day-job, I had little time to stop and breathe let alone do much in the way of art! However, it was also a very productive time behind the scenes, as lots of new ideas, hopes and wishes were being set into motion! My computer issues have finally been sorted out, as have problems with the Newsletter itself (which unfortunately resulted in its not being able to be sent a few times!) and a host of other issues! Coming into this year I am just feeling very positive and pro-active! As of the 5th of February I will no longer be working at my day-job, in favour of 2 weeks solid relaxation and painting time, followed by my commencement of my PhD research! I'm so excited about this, as it will be like going back to school and will hopefully allow me to feel more creative on a more permanent basis! So in the few days leading up to my holiday, I knuckled down and made some long-awaited website changes...listed below, and I now feel much better about the website and the direction it is going in! So get set for a magical ride as lots of new artworks and lovely products such as greeting cards, bookmarks, fairy blessing charms, hand-embellished prints and original sketches get added to the galleries, starting next month! I can hardly wait!
- Lots of changes have been made to the website, including funky new graphics at the top of the pages (well, I revamped the old ones!), an improved Menu system, with lots of lovely and clear category headings, as well as many new pages, such as...
- A Photo Gallery has been added to the site so you can catch a glimpse into the life of Kirstin Mills Fairy and Fantasy Art! See it here!

Happy New Year! I'm so excited about 2008...it feels like it's going to be a very exciting and prosperous year! I have so many things that I want to (and will!) achieve this year, so it's going to be a very fun ride!
A brand new section has been added to the site and its filled with FREE GOODIES!!! At the moment you can choose from a beautiful selection of desktop wallpapers and icon avatars featuring my art...check them out here!
This month I have also added some gorgeous wall clocks to the Handmade and Specials Gallery. There are only a limited number available so get in quick! And, for a limited time only, there is also an option to customize your own clock!
As a celebration of the changing over into the new year, I have created a new artwork, available in the Fairy Print Gallery. Called "Twilight," it was created on either side of the New Year changeover!

~December 2007 News & Updates~ | ||||||
| General News I have decided to release the December website updates early because a) I'm really excited about some of the new artworks available, b) it's a wonderful season worth celebrating early (Summer, Christmas, My Birthday!!) and also, just because I can! :P With several complicated computer issues over the last few months, the Newsletter hasn't made it to anyone's inboxes, which I wish to apologise for! It's been frustrating and confusing and resulted in me getting a brand spanking new computer of awesomeness! Hopefully this will allow me to get the basics done as well as more fancy things like some digital artworks in the near future! Already the graphics on the new site design (which was launched last month if you haven't yet seen it!) were done with this new computer! Some further changes have taken place...lots of new artworks, some licensing of my artwork for gorgeous perfume oils and body products, some of which I will hopefully be able to make available through my website soon, and my involvement with a US game company on an exciting new project which still remains top secret! Also, many wonderful ideas and plans are making themselves ready for the New Year...look out for lots of yummy new products and designs, stalls at markets and fairs which will be announced, and much more! I also want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! Enjoy the silly season, relax, laugh, eat well and make sure you do it with a lot of love! It's also a wonderful time of year to make sure we show our kindness and appreciation towards others...why not reach out and give a gift of some kind to a stranger? Maybe a helping hand across the street, lifting a heavy bag or chipping in that extra change when it's needed? With All Hallows Eve fast approaching a darker, stranger mood settles...see the new "The Dark Arts" Gallery featuring the new artworks below!
New product lines which were in development are again put on hold, but not for long! I'm getting a new computer to handle it all (yay!) so expect to see many updates of lovely new products very soon!
And...my websites will soon be getting a big makeover to unify them and make them more suited to the many different styles of art now in the Galleries. Stay tuned for the new looks! If you have any ideas please feel free to pass them along!

I've been going crazy lately with my websites! Yesterday I bought a domain to act as a gateway to all my sites, designed the site and had it up and running as well as recoding and fixing my wholesale site AND much of my retail one...all in one day! That's on top of having a painfully slow internet connection that saw me staring dumbly at the screen for what felt like hours upon hours while bit by tiny bit the progress bar filled up...that for each and every file/graphic and page uploaded to my three sites! Phew! But they are up now and I can forget about them for a while! At least until update time! ;) I wanted the gateway site as an easier spelled and more searchable site than kirstinmills.com seeing as LOTS of people seem to have difficulty not reading my name as Kristin or Kirsten or worse...Kristen! No offence to people with those names, its just they aren't, and never were, mine. Go here if you would like to check it out! :)
